Independent Medical-Legal Evaluations in Pain Management
Pain is among the most contested issues in personal injury, workers' compensation, and insurance disputes — subjective by nature, expensive to treat, and frequently central to questions of causation, disability, and the reasonableness of care. Resolving those questions requires an evaluator with deep clinical experience, current knowledge of treatment standards, and no stake in the outcome.
Dr. H. Rand Scott has practiced interventional pain management in Newport Beach since 1996 and has provided medical forensic consultation for more than fifteen years. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with sub-specialization in pain management, and he developed evidence-based opioid management and safety protocols of the kind now used as prescribing standards. He has lectured to more than one hundred hospitals and physician organizations nationwide on pain assessment, prescribing standards, and legal issues in pain management. His opinions are grounded in three decades of active clinical practice — he evaluates and treats patients every week, and his testimony reflects how pain medicine is actually practiced today.
